Gansu TV anchor uses three names in three days

An anchorwoman of Gansu Satellite TV Station was spotted using three different names in three days when presenting a news program on air, becoming a laughingstock to the netizens.

The above picture shows that the anchorwoman was named “任秀娟 (Ren Xiujuan)” on Feb. 5, “玺悦 (Xiyue)” on Feb. 6, and “任玺悦 (Ren Xiyue)” on Feb. 7 differently.

Facing the criticism, the TV station recently explained to the public that Ren Xiujuan officially changed her name to Ren Xiyue on Feb. 6 on her ID card and “Hukou Book” (a certificate of registered permanent residence in China), so according to the anchorwoman’s initial idea, the subtitles team showed her name as “Xiyue” only (without her surname) on the day, but on Feb. 7 the authority of the TV station demanded to use her full name (Ren Xiyue) instead by regulations.
